Maple Syrup Tour 2019 at Tenwood Lodge (Tours)
For the second year in a row, Tenwood Lodge Proprietors, Russ and Kim will offer pre-scheduled Maple Syrup Production Tours. Tour participants have the opportunity to walk through the sugar bush (maple trees) and see how the trees get tapped, as well as visit the wood-fired sugar house to observe how much time, heat and hard work go into producing a single gallon.

Behind the Scenes Tour at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology (Tours)

Family Sledding at Rice Hill (ADVENTURE & OUTDOOR RECREATION)
Once served by a cantankerous homemade rope tow (a disaster waiting to happen, according to old timers), many visitors now use their cars and the state park access road to shuttle riders from bottom to top. Winter Snowshoeing with the Montezuma Audubon Center At Buttonwood Grove Winery (ADVENTURE & OUTDOOR RECREATION)
Snowshoe through the dormant vineyards with certified Montezuma naturalists, searching for signs of winter wildlife. Following the outdoor portion of the event, head into the tasting room and warm up with wine and food samples, then enjoy a live birds of prey presentation from the Braddock Bay Raptor Research center.

Sensory Perception of Wine 101 at Bet the Farm Winery ( TASTINGS)
Several fun and illuminating exercises will illustrate the basic concepts behind the S's. For example, does color influence our perception of flavor? How important is aroma to our perception of flavor? Do we all have the same sensitivity to components of taste such as sweetness, acidity or bitterness? Once we understand a little bit about how we taste - we'll go on to explore a selection of Finger Lakes Wines artfully paired with some local foods. Or is it scientifically?
