For the second year in a row, Tenwood Lodge Proprietors, Russ and Kim will offer pre-scheduled Maple Syrup Production Tours. Tour participants have the opportunity to walk through the sugar bush (maple trees) and see how the trees get tapped, as well as visit the wood-fired sugar house to observe how much time, heat and hard work go into producing a single gallon.
Tours last 1-1.5 hours are free for lodging guests of Tenwood Lodge, but is $20 for 2 non-guests. Check at www.TenwoodLodge.com/mapletour2019 to see if there is space available and call 607-273-9546 for questions. Must pre-register by emailing TenwoodLodge@gmail.com and receive confirmation. Wear boots for mud and snow, syrup season often gets messy! We will be outside a lot. If all goes well, we'll have some hands on science in the Tenwood Lodge lab (kitchen) with new and old technology, and then have some tasting of the product and the sap.
