Dido, fierce Queen of Carthage, falls in love with a Trojan Price, Æneas. While their love may be mutual, the fate of their romance is out of their control when a Sorceress plots the destruction of Carthage. Forced apart by trickery, evil and sorcery, the lovers are faced with a brewing storm and potential disaster. Based on Book IV of Virgil’s Aeneid, Dido and Aeneas is Henry Purcell’s one true opera and his only all-sung dramatic work. This show is directed by Norm Johnson and conducted by Christopher Zemliauskas and can be seen in the Hoerner Theatre. Tickets are $10-$20.
Ticket prices range from $10-$20. Discounts may be available (student, youth, senior citizen, etc.); be sure to ask when purchasing tickets.
