Come see the exhibit of 12 exciting posters created by student artists of the Lehman Alternative Community School. This celebration of Black History Month focuses on Voting Rights, and these posters bring to light the names of sheroes and heroes who worked at great personal peril to obtain the right to vote and have their votes count. Meet the artists, their teacher, Ana Goldsmith, and Rejoice the Vote! activist Jeff Furman. Free event.
This event is a program of the Sisters of Change exhibit (January-May), a collaboration of The Dorothy Cotton Institute and The History Center in Tompkins County, funded in part through Humanities New York. This event is free and open to all, especially students, educators and families, with refreshments and Ben & Jerry's ice cream!
